The following is the language that was sent this morning to Representative Hilary Scholten, Senator Elissa Slotkin, and Senator Gary Peters, my elected representatives. If you are feeling despondent, confused, and afraid of what comes next with this war I encourage you to reach out to your elected representatives – whoever they may be.
We must not allow the United States of America to go to war on the whims of one man – the President. We must not have brave men and women die because of the will of mad men — that is not the spirit nor the intention of our system of government.
The following link will allow you to find your elected representative. Please feel free to copy and paste the message below if it moves you or edit it to your liking. If you do anything today: participate and make your voice heard. Power to the people, now and always.

“Good morning,
Article 1 Section 8 of the United States Constitution plainly provides Congress the power to declare war, not the President. Over the weekend the President, himself, without the consent of the governed, launched an illegal war and a war of choice and aggression against Iran. This is UNACCEPTABLE.
It is your duty as a member of Congress and as my elected representative to rebuke and reign in the President regarding this illegal war of choice and aggression.
This country cannot afford to engage in another regime change war in the Middle East. The brave sons and daughters of the United States should not have to fight and die on the whims of one man — that is antithetical to the spirit of the United States.
I trust that you will do what is right and not condone the actions of this President.
Signed,
Mitch Timmerman”
